Mike is an experienced investor and advisor to early-stage tech companies in both the US and Latin America, with a focus on various sectors including logistics, advertising, media, financial platforms, and clean tech. His portfolio includes notable companies such as Frete and Wareclouds (Brazil), Parabola (SF/NY), Cornershop (acquired by Uber, Mexico), IndexTank (acquired by LinkedIn), Nostra.ai, JW Player (merged with Connatix), PulpoMedia (acquired by Entravision), BlinkBooking (acquired by Groupon), SocialWire (acquired by Rakuten), Ustream (acquired by IBM), Dotspotter (acquired by CBS), Abacus (acquired by Certify), Fondimex, Metal, Hennessey Capital (acquired by Hitachi), and SolarMosaic and Principle Power in the clean tech space.
As a co-founder of PuenteLabs, one of the first organizations to help Latin American entrepreneurs scale their businesses internationally and raise venture capital in Silicon Valley, Mike has been a key figure in the growth of the region’s entrepreneurial ecosystem. He has also served as a speaker, panelist, and mentor for numerous organizations across Latin America, including Endeavor, LAVCA, NXTP Labs, the Colombian Government, Chile Global Funds, 21212 in Rio, Tec de Monterrey, and the Alianza del Pacifico.
A long-time limited partner in venture capital, Mike has been an LP since 1997 in ten funds, including DCM, Highland Capital Partners, 1011 Ventures, Unbounded, Atman, Alter Global, and Driven. Earlier in his career, he worked in enterprise sales for Inktomi, Pegasystems, and Oracle, selling software to Fortune 500 companies across various industries, including retail, telecommunications, healthcare, and technology. Mike holds an MBA from the University of Washington and a BA in History from the University of Michigan, with additional studies in Spain, Chile, and
Mexico.
